We have an 8'×8'×20' that @DanS bought from ROXBOX Containers. They delivered it to our property managing the steep parts of the road and the switchbacks no problem. Purchased in ~2016, been sitting up there directly on the dirt since then. Keeps moisture and animals out, even with the snow that we get up here.

FYI the walls are basically paper to the teeth on a track loader bucket ... oops. Dan poked a hole in it when I asked him to move it because I was being a picky mountain wifey. 😬🤣

@DomOfTheDead I did *not* need to know that we can have power in the conex ... because now I want power in there ... 🤔

So, if you've tried purchasing a shipping container via FB Market Place you have to watch out for scams. I had fun playing with this knucklehead yesterday. I even called Aztec container in California since they were using their name and address. The owner was greatful for the call and stated they were having a real problem with the scammers using their info and then taking peoples money and ripping them off. He gets at least one call a week from people losing hundreds of dollars on the deposit!

I'm following this closely too. We bought a five acre lot between Canyon City and Westcliffe and have been thinking of storage options with room to sleep in for a couple nights until we are ready to build. Tuff Shed has some nice options with a lofts, but rodents and long term durability are a concern with a stick built unit. I'll want to keep whatever unit gets installed in the long term and a shipping container would be bomb proof.

I know you are looking for a 20' so this might not be helpful. But others might find it to be. I am looking to purchase at least one 40' unit before winter so I have been getting quotes. Here are a few examples, all include delivery from Denver/Brighton to our place in Broomfield, and most said I could inspect the used units first, but the new ones I couldn't. Can not guarantee the accuracy, but these are from written quotes given within the past week.

I am werid. Getting excited about a big metal box. Gets delivered in the morning. 40' HC. Should provide a decent amount of dry, rodent free storage. Though I am thinking another might be ordered on Monday if this gets filled as quickly as I think it will.

Let there be light!

Finally got around to wiring the connex and hanging some lights. Just ran a single 15 amp circuit with 3 outlets and a pigtail with a male connector. This allows me to power the connex with an extension cord. It isn't in it's final location yet so I didn't want to trench in a permanent power source. And since the horse shelters are right there and have outlets close, this seemed like the best option for the time being. Now I just need to find the time to fill it.

Not sure how I missed this thread but YES I had a 40 footer delivered up a narrow road and dropped right where I had “leveled”. I went through Container One as a friend had a connection there, an old HS friend. I keep three ATVs and chainsaws, tools, etc in it and the only rodents that have entered got in there when Inleft the doors open all day. It is water tight and just “cheap” storage. I do not regret getting the container at all. I suspect it will be there a long time!

You must have super powers. Around here it would have managed to already be full of crap! 😂🫠
No super powers unfortunately. Just a severe lack of time. Hoping some more storage to clean out the shop some will be helpful.

I did manage to get one of my 4runners moved into the connex. Winched it out of the shop and onto the trailer then pulled it over to the connex for an easy off load. But still have 25 feet empty left in front of it...

Hoping the weather is nice next Sunday so I can make a couple more deposits. Today I got roped into rescuing 5 old inoperable Allis Chalmers tractors from their "final" resting places in an old farmer's field and moving them to their new home. So no more progress on the storage. Here are the first two I got moved. 5 in one day (3 trips from Ft Lupton to Loveland) was a lot. I am beat.

Outside of a Farmall A series, the sheet metal and gas tank styling of the Allis tractors is very nice (and very similar). Thanks for rescuing those gems, and no, I don't need a project;-).

Don't worry, none are for sale. And just to clarify, they are not mine. I just got roped into helping my good friend. He is an avid collector. I just have the right equipment to move and haul those types of inoperable things. And my time as a Millwright taught me a thing or three about rigging. 2 are complete parts rigs. 1 could be restored with a great deal of effort. And 2 are very restorable and will be. The small Gravely that was also acquired did come home with me, but only so I could do some welding repair.

Also, I really like the lights below for lighting up the entire container. I don’t have to recharge them often.
