i find it odd that you just joined, you're in another country, and immediately have done nothing but pimp a shipping company, which btw, would't apply in this instance. these are small parts that get shipped in country via ups, usps, or fedex, not large shipments. and again, the shipping company still can't do anything about city taxes which is why a lot of companies don't ship to certain areas.

It's a shame that we have to now pay online order tax. This was endorsed and encouraged by the previous T*%#p regime. I used Rockauto but no longer able to order their parts here in Co Springs.

Rock Auto gets it from all levels in Colorado down to the local municipalities since they're a Colorado-based company doing web sales.

"Signed by Gov. Jared Polis last week, House Bill 1240 takes effect Saturday. The bill, an updated, baked-into-the-Colorado Revised Statutes version of rules originally rolled out by the Department of Revenue last year, makes destination-based sales tax the law in the state.
That means regardless of where a business is located, if it ships products to another city, county or town in Colorado, it is required to calculate, collect and pay the sales taxes for that jurisdiction. That includes accounting for overlapping boundaries and special taxing districts such as RTD.
The rules have been coming for some time. The Department of Revenue was already tinkering with an update to sales tax rules when it was spurred into emergency action by a new federal standard set by the Supreme Court’s South Dakota vs. Wayfair ruling last year."

Parts Geek will ship to inside city limits of Longmont. Maybe not as picky on what they charge tax for? Maybe it will change with the
new Law Dave put up.

Had to ship to Highlands Ranch. Rock Auto wouldn't ship to my house in CommieLand Broomfield.

Anybody in northern colorado able to receive rock auto shipments? There is a sixer of your favorite brew in it for you if I can ship some front control arm bushings to your place.

While I can’t help you with shipping, our friends over at Cruiser Outfitters @cruiseroutfit (cruiserTEQ.com) carry a ton of high quality aftermarket bushings. I would guess they rival rock auto and they ship anywhere.

Cheers!

I usually order everything from C.O. but Rock Auto currently has Japanese OEM lower control arm bushings shipping in a house brand box for a fraction of what the dealers and C.O. have them selling at. Just trying to grab 4 of those to finish my suspension overhaul.

I will be interested to hear how your LCA bushing swap goes. Doesn't sound the easiest.

I work at a FedEx Office retail location here in Englewood.

I learned from a customer you can ship to cities where the weirdness does not apply. Our stores hold packages for 5 business days.

Hot dog! Do the stores charge service fees for holding FedEx deliveries?

It's a free service👍 I would call ahead as a courtesy if large order, but not necessary at all. The address should have these lines when shipping direct to the stores

Hold at FedEx Office
Your Name
The rest of the store address info...

Edit: just want to mention you must ship FedEx in order to use the hold service.

As usual, there are at least two sides to most stories. Admittedly, the new law was partially a response to lost tax revenues at state and local levels due to burgeoning online sales. The taxes that pay the cops who respond to your catalytic converter theft, the folks who keep your streets paved , make it go away when you flush, etc. But it was also a response to concerns of your local brick and mortar stores faced with unfair competition from online sellers able to offer lower prices partially due to their ability to skip the sales taxes. The local retailers wanted a level playing field. You know, your ma and pa tire store that used to mount your bigger tires on odd size wheels or your local gear supplier who sponsors or provides door prizes for your events and raffles, sponsors your kids' Little League team, ponies up for other local fund drives. Having trouble right now remembering the last time I saw a Rock Auto sponsorship at any event. And there's no shortage of postings lamenting the loss of local service providers who used to go their extra mile for us before being forced to close.
I'm not holier than anyone. FedEx and UPS stop regularly at my house. But I also try to buy locally as much as possible for the above reasons and wonder how much actual money is saved after driving across town or a county boundary or two just to avoid taxes. I also try to avoid confusing inconvenience with sacrifice.
End of rant....
