Our backyard is now perfect for a rock crawling course for our RCs! We would love some ideas to spark the creative juices. We want to keep this more or less natural looking with inspiration from trails and notable obstacles we encounter with the big trucks. For example the v notch at wheeler lake. We have two corners that will be home to two large feature obstacles with multiple approaches and line choices! Which I’m sure will be super easy with our expert landscaping knowledge 😉.

We are not a fan of bridges and plan to roughly map out the course, want it to function as an out and back course and make it sections to limit the amount of material buildup. We currently have a bunch of medium rocks we will be bringing from our rental our new home. Also plan to for gravel to medium river rocks, logs and stumps. Maybe once she’s built up we will host a RC party! Please send ideas or pictures for ideas. 😊

We will have to think about how we can do some sharp switchbacks because that’s a good idea. We want lots of v notches, step downs and moguls. Also most of our trucks are class 2 and 3 I think with a priority for class 2 and stuff for class 1. The bigger tires of class 3 make everything to easy.

Maybe build a tall wall out of 2x4s and then put shelves on it with switchbacks going from shelf to shelf.

Stream bed with a recirculation pump and water reservoir. Have to have a creek crossing with some obstacles. ;)
We have the perfect corner for a rebuild of French creek!

have you decided what size the course will primarily before? I would definitely try to copy some trails like BB or even red cone. Cant wait to see the final product!

@Yarn Cruiser Y'all need a pickup truck load of dirt for starters ... I mean, you gotta have that if you want to get serious, right?

I have stuff you can use! Weathered wood, various lumber (with nails sticking out), and other demo stuff!
