picture of the san francisco cable car works.
These g.e. 510hp 500vdc 800 amp motors pull continuous loops of cable through the city on 4 distinct loops each corresponding to one of the 4 lines still running. The powell, hyde, mason, and california. The hyde and mason each converge on the powell.

So there are 4 motor and sheave sets. Pretty cool to ride through the city on these historic cars.

killer view. for the moon, especially full ones, you'll want to be about 1/2 to a full stop under.

Thanks for the advice, I had guessed 3 stops. IIRC, it was F 5.6 and 1/8 for shutter, can't remember ISO.

that's epic. good for you guys.

shot something slightly out of my wheelhouse over the weekend, ballet. they gave me the run of the theatre. i was allowed to shoot the pre-show warm up, shot the first show from the wings (mucho awesome) and the second from the audience.

Man, what time where you up there? I was pre-riding some of the course after work Tuesday. Blue and white Gunnar. Started at Soderberg, up Tower to Stout-Logger's-Sawmill-Nomad. Short and sweet... But convinces me I'm so screwed for the race this year. Again.

Hmm. I think I got there about 10:30 or 11ish. Made about a 2 hour loop. A bit more hiking than riding which was kind of a downer but the weather more than made up for it.

So, the oldest is at camp up in Steamboat at the moment and we were trying to find something to do with other two es yesterday. We wound up at Tiny Town. This pretty much sums it up.

Even the best riders walk some places up in Horsetooth.
