man, you are funny.

The paint looks pretty awesome...... and all that hardware does too.

Where'd you get it plated? Aeropropeller? it looks like they did a really nice job whoever it was.

I like the new PC color also.

Now I know why you took all the stuff off for emissions testing.

I think my favorite part is the CAD on the shackles.

Billmark Plating in Texas

The ultimate "gold" package. Are the emblems gong to be gold as well?

I already shaved all the emblems ;)

Nicest 80 ever. You win. But don't stop.

No doubt.

Mike...I think you might win for at least the United States, likely the world!!! I sometimes try to avoid looking at your thread so that I can control the drool on my desk!

LandCruiserPhil's rig was supposed to be pretty nice. Not to take anything away from Mike's rig. The ptarmigan is sweet

I have been fighting a clunk in the front end and decided to fix it. The pictures speak for themselves! I added stacked washers to all 12, two per hole, and welded them to the frame and to each other. The front is 16mm so 9/16 is zero play. The rears are 18mm so 5/8 drilled out very slightly. I bought new bolts from Slee that are longer for the front. These are the same bolts used in the caster correction plates.

I also switched to OEM rubber bushings...

Video from before:
(You can see the pinion deflect up under braking and down under acceleration)

All fixed up :) It figures the only non Toyota part on the truck had to fail. New Spicer joints, rebuilt the double cardan, new slip joint, re-tubed, lengthened 1/2", and balanced. I think that is all you can do to a drive shaft.

The exhaust held up really well. I like how the polished stainless kept everything looking new.

There isn't an OEM solution readily available for a double cardan. I just need to find a first gen double cab in a junkyard, throw a few hundred at it, and it would be all Toyota.

Is that what Christo uses in his DC front shaft? I never actually gave it a thought until now.
