After the Hotel tour Drew and Matt asked us where we were staying. We replied with a "Well either the Volcano or somewhere else. So, they invited us to camp on there familys ranch out side town. Some truly kind folks. We ended up camping below Emery Peak, next to the Dry Cimaron River, this is close to where General Kearney marched his troops to take Santa Fe and ultimately California.

the museum

the museum had lots of local history, donated artifacts and cool pictures. Here are some interesting things. like bank notes, a picture of BlackJack Ketchum, and other stuff..

Camp

As Perry mentioned, we were lucky enough to have met up with Drew and Matt, whose families have been ranching this land for 3+ generations. He let us on their land for first night's camp. Really nice site, by a creek...a little buggy, but awesome!
then we hit the road again...

We ended up Finishing at South Fork. Daniel got food Poisoning and the winter weather/flash floods didn't seem to welcoming.

Mud wasn't to bad, at least when you don't get splashed with it. Weather was great all the way till CO.

Bummed you couldn't make it this year. Hopefully the rigs back to a 100%.
