I love and vey frequently substitute Anchovies or Anchovy paste for salt. It does add a subtle, not overpowering taste as well. But in general most will never try it. Their losshere's a sauce recipie we use when were feeling like more than tomato sauce/salt/oregano
2 tbsp grated cheese 1 inch anchovy paste 8 ounce can tomato sauce 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil 1/3_ small can tomato paste 1/3_ cup red wine 1 tsp basil dry 1/2_ tsp garlic powder 1/2_ tsp onion powder 1/8_ tsp black pepper 1/2_ tsp oregano dry 1 tsp parsley sprinkle red pepper flakes Mix & Simmer
