Found the inspection instructions. Do I need that exact SST 09268-45012 part to do this check? @Runnin on E
Trying to do as much as I can myself within reason ha. Half the fun is learning how to work on the truck but my limited experience does mean I require some help and mentorship. Thanks for the tips. I think I have a buddy with a kit I think we will try out.You are going to need a pressure gage, but not necessarily the toyota part number special tool. With older vehicles you have a couple of choices. One is to take your classic rugged 4X4 to someone who knows what they are doing and already has the tools (=$) and pay them for that experience and capital investment. Two is to get into the FSM and figure out how to maintain your classic yourself. I am going to guess you are at #2? So the only thing missing is the investment in the tools. And there are two options there also. One is to purchase the tool to complete the task or two, if you get lucky you can borrow them. There are a number of good quality fuel injection test pressure kits on line. You do also need to be able to ( as I like to say) make something out of nothing. Don't forget that the tools that you buy are for the life of the vehicle and not just for this one problem. Never sell your tools EVER. Below is just one example and will need this kit to test the other pressures too. Don't just go off of price, you get what you pay for. There is a third option to all of this, and that is to ask somebody from your favorite 4X4 forum to come to your place with THEIR tools and help you get to the bottom of your issue. Although THAT price could be two or three times more expensive in beverages and medium rare steaks depending on their size and how many "friends" they bring along.......doh!

@J1000 thanks for tipping me off to the group. Glad I ran into you there. I have not checked the timing, I’ll add it to the list.
haha thats awesome and yep not sure I'll be ready for that sort of stuff for a while. Definitely want to do some trails though. My number one goal is to get out and camp in the truck with my son.I originally joined Rising Sun in 1999 to learn how to wrench on my junk. Mission accomplished on that, but next thing you know they had me wheeling crazy stuff too. At my first Cruise Moab in 2000 I'm like: "you want me to go up THAT?????"![]()
No new updates, may not work on the truck till late August. Will make sure to update hereWhat has happened on this issue? Any update?
