How do you break your lower control arms?

I think it was rear upper control arms. And, both of them broke at the same time!? They had to get creative to get it fixed on the trail. I wasn't on the run, but spoke to Matt shortly after. Sounds like Woody and Treeroot really helped get him going again with a sweet fix. :thumb:

They were fatigued, you could tell one was cracked for a while. I had meant to say Upper, but mis-typed :D

We had a great time!! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

BIG THANKS to Tom for helping me get over Vail Pass on the way home yesterday when the cruiser got a little hot!

We ran Chicken Corners on Friday and then we explored Archs on Saturday, including running Cache Valley Road.

A huge thank you to Woody, Mike and his father!!

On Thursday I gunned Poison Spider and woody lead the run. Going up the waterfall a 99 4runner owned by Matt from Book Cliff Cruisers broke both lower control arms at the spot on the first picture. Fortunately, woody had a welder, so I took the rest of the group up and Treeroot and Ken Davidson came along and helped woody weld and repair. The did it quickly and they all caught up with us on the overlook

 Wanted to say thank you everyone that helped out on repairing the 4runner. The UPPER rear control links were the parts that failed because of fatigue. Have to run for now, will finish post later.

SATURDAY: POISON SPIDER MESA
Daniel Markofsky led and I gunned. We had only 6 trucks total, so we took the opportunity to explore every option we could find.

I posted a more complete album here. If you were on one of these runs, check it out. I probably got a photo of your truck somewhere along the way.
