Ohhh good news! Dom is going to meet me for a trail along the way home to wrap up my trip! I can’t wait to run a trail with him which will help with the bittersweet feeling of wrapping up a trip you don’t want to end.

After investigating a mystery clunk, we found that the exhaust mount on the tail pipe had completely fallen off. So I made a little support and welded it on

we have seen friends with 80s running these same size tires with positive results, and they also have lucrative price point, it was decided to give em a shot.



I used a wire wheel grinder to take the chrome off my 96 factory wheels, gave it a flat black base coat and then a coat of bronze metallic. I think it accents the factory paint colors, probably will better blend in with the patina of the truck as they get dirty and trail scrapes

We discussed it but, as ultimately it was Brandi's decision, she decided to stick with 33s over moving up to 35s. Gearing is better, easier on the steering and brakes, and she is working on improving driving skills instead of relying on big meats to make it easier

Any engineer worth their salt: Times New Roman. Helvetica if I'm feeling frisky. But I will concede to whatever works good for being a sticker long term, like if part of the sticker is too thin and would tend to peel then a thicker font should be preferred.

On a related note, a few minutes ago I saw a sticker saying "please pass, I'm flooring it" on a Subaru in a Costco parking lot. I liked it and laughed. But I'd say my twist on it is a little more respectable: "just pass. Someone has to get the tickets". So if the cricut is warmed up

That makes sense. (Though mine are 33x10x16.) Still I like how you're thinking. It would be good to use a similar font & size like on tires.

Hey Dom, did you say you painted the wheels black before the bronze paint was applied?

I think they look great!

I’m curious about the process because I’ve been thinking about doing something similar with my factory wheels.

I have some duplicolor wheel paint that I want to use. I’m thinking that starting with a black base would give the graphite color more depth.
