trash bags are always a good idea. Also small tree clippers and bow saws for any fallen trees. We aren't allowed to use actual chain saws.I will be there. Are there any special tools we might need? Should we bring extra trash bags?
alot of us have something like theseCount me in! If anyone has a suggestion for a modestly priced radio for comms, I'd love to hear it. Is the campground close to the trailhead or somewhere else?
In the past we typically camp a little ways up from the trail head. It's a good flat spot that can accommodate 8-10 trucks if we get our geometry right.Count me in! Does this include battery powered chainsaws?trash bags are always a good idea. Also small tree clippers and bow saws for any fallen trees. We aren't allowed to use actual chain saws.
Yeah that's the preferred spot, if it's available. Basically whomever can get up there first & find a spot just post up to the forum where you are, as there's cell coverage. and if your phone's dead, then just have your radio on to be listening for others. In the past we typically camp a little ways up from the trail head. Yes it does, the official stance is that anyone operating such equipment must be certified Sawyers under the National Forest Service Crosscut and Chainsaw program. I believe our only member here with those credentials is @MDH33 but I doubt he's driving out for this one... it's all about safety and liability. The FS will have saws though if they're needed.Does this include battery powered chainsaws?

Judging by the strong response for this event, we'll probably just plan to arrive in time to jump in line. Thank you all for the responses. Really looking forward to this!In the past we typically camp a little ways up from the trail head. It's a good flat spot that can accommodate 8-10 trucks if we get our geometry right.

I think we generally start around 9am, but we've got the safety brief to do beforehand, so, like 8:30am?Judging by the strong response for this event, we'll probably just plan to arrive in time to jump in line. Thank you all for the responses. Really looking forward to this!
