So, where are you looking to break this rig in? Carnage, Penrose, Choke Cherry? Maybe UB, my self and anyone else with a buggy can put together a run. Stay a day or two to get details worked out. Just throwing this out there.
Probably Gypsum since it’s close. If you’ve got a capable vehicle it’s a blast. Middle trails are definitely easier than 10 falls, figured I’d start there!

Been busy with stuff...still chipping away but slowly. I fitted up my old Toyota skins on it, I want it to look like something. I’m finishing up cage bracing, added a passenger side foot brace, and we started on the front driveshaft tonight but ran out of time. We also got the dash fitted into place. I’ve got to cut and weld in sides to it but that’s not too difficult. I’m using and old two piece from a Toyota pickup combined with a clean spare shaft I had built and never used. Hopefully only a couple more nights of work and we can start tear down to finish weld and paint.

Pretty impressive how long it takes to build one, but I’m almost to tear down. One thing at a time, I was looking at an engine skid last night and realized I needed to build my front driveshaft first.

Inching closer to the finish, we finished a couple of cage braces tonight. Most important though was the front driveshaft is done. Aside from finish welding them along with everything else they’re built and in place. I had a little concern about front clearance but at full bump I have probably 3/4” clearance from my links. Good to go.

got it out in the daylight, all that is left is an engine skid plate (I was waiting on finishing the front driveshaft) and two more tubes on the roof and I can start tearing it down. I ordered a torque converter, should be here Friday and I have to research the TC bolts a little more. If I remember correctly one of them has a shoulder and the others don't (or maybe its longer?). I got lucky and found the correct spacer(s) needed for the flex plate as well. The 22r/22re stuff is getting harder and harder to find! I'm also going to put some test springs on the front and take measurements so I can get coilover springs on order.

At full bump the highest part of the car is 5'4", should be 5" higher at ride height

Little by little, finishing out the floors right now. Couple more panels on the driver side left and a heat shield for the exhaust and we’re ready to tear down. Hopefully this weekend I’ll get to start tearing it down to finish weld and paint everything.

Looks fantastic. Looking forward to seeing it running trails, but probably not as much as you are.

trucking along we finished the floors today. I have a couple of heat shields yet to finish to shroud the exhaust under my seat.
We put springs in the front to measure ride height so I can order springs this week.
Going to winch it on my trailer tonight and take it to my friends shop so we can start tear down this week

Dual brake pedals? Are the front and rear systems separate?

Yep it’s tight inside and I figured plumbing front and rear was much simpler than finding room for a cutting brake.
I ordered a triple master setup from wilwood and left one out.
It’s much easier to hit both pedals than just one so dogs will take a little more effort to hit just one pedal but it should work great

Tear down time. Nothing makes you feel like you’ve got an insurmountable hill of work quite like tearing down what you just built to the ground. Finish welding and hopefully

Exciting.. :) hopefully finish welding everything isn't proving to be too tedious.
