There's a great spot just after St Elmo that we are planning on camping Friday night if anyone wants to join us. It's a flat open spot and could support well over 10 rigs if not more.

Of course as long as it's not taken, we are leaving Denver around 4-5.

Good deal. That sounds promising.

I'm sorry, who is camping with me and Erik near St. Elmo Friday night?

Perry - can you restate the current intended route for Sat/Sun? I'm puzzled after reading all the replies.. Thanks! Steve.

Steve,

Here is the plan for the weekend: Route: Saturday: From St. Elmo we will head up to the Marry Murphy mine to check out for a bit. From there, head over Hancock Pass. Taking in the sights along the way. This will lead us into Pitkin and our camp along Middle Quartze Creek.

Saturday night. Lets plan on doing a pot luck again this year. Always a fun way to get the group together and enjoying the company. If anyone has a propane fire pit that they could bring, that would be awesome!

Sunday. I will be breaking the day into two groups. The main group will be leaving camp at 9am for Cumberland Pass. Enjoying the veiws and taking the drive into TinCup. The second group will be leaving camp at 8am and we will be going over Napoleon Pass. I'm limiting the Napoleon Pass run to 6 vehicles including myself. I will be hand picking this group, and will inform those picked Saturday. This is my first time having two groups on Sunday, but the hopeful plan is to all meet back up in TinCup before making the long trek back to the city.

With Cottonwood closed and under construction we will be going back to BV over TinCup, unless folks want to bug out via Gunnison and Monarch... I may be having the Napoleon group start a bit earlier just to make sure the two groups can re connect back in TinCup.

Sadly, the Alpine tunnel is still closed. So we won't be bale to explore that wonderful piece of history.

Hey all. I will be leaving after work today. Most likely rolling in late to camp on Middle Quartze Creek. For those that will be staying at that camp tonight, and if I don't see you later, for tomorrow, let's plan on leaving latest by 7am, but preferably by 6:30 so we can meet up with the rest of the group at St. Elmo at 8am.

If anyone has a portable propane fire pit we could use, that would be much appreciated!! Fire bans are in effect.

Look forward to seeing everyone tonight/tomorrow!

Will be monitoring 146. On my way in tonight.

I wasn't aware that you could still use a propane fire pit while there is a fire ban, that's good to know! I have an older propane burner I use for crawfish boils, would something like that work or would it need to be a pit with a ring or something?

If it would work, my next question is that I have to put my spare in my cab taking up most of the room, and with all the other crap we have to bring I have zero room to bring the burner. If someone else is going up with an 80 series running 35's with a spare I'd feel better about just leaving my spare at home to make room for the burner, or if someone wants to come by my place in Erie to pick it up.
