Awesome guys!! Thanks.

And I have to apologize, thought I put the limit at 20 vehicles, which is what I always planned, but saw today that it said 25.... Doh.

Looking more at the route feel it's going to be a great one!

Perry two quick questions.

1. Will this route be trailer friendly? I don't want to bring mine and become a liability to the group.

2. Any recommended books for getting up to speed on some of the area's we will be visiting?

Thanks man, I am stoked to attend.

Drew,

Depends on the trailer. A caravan (sorry been watching a lot of the old Top Gear) type trailer would probably be best left at camp. If the trailer is small enough, and off road enough, with a decent driver, should do good with the route planned. Kurt dragged a off road trailer behind his FJ40 last year and did well. Granted, a new route is possibly being added for this year. Details pending on that.

As far as books. I'll have to look at the library. First one to come to mind, maybe not in reference to the region but a good read for the time period and mining in general is the Tomboy Bride. Another would be a book by Drew Helmers. All on the Alpine Tunnel. Just added it to my to read list.. I'll have a little hand out I'll give out when we start the run.

Still planning to be there.

Will we be camping in the same spot all nights?

I can go early to help secure campsites if necessary. (Even if unnecessary...I can do that...:D)

Perry have to say maybe right now. I am changing companies on July 11th and know heading up the Friday of the run would be difficult. I know there are folks on the waiting list and if you need to know now you should give my spot to someone else as I likely won't know until after I start my new job (Going back to Lockheed)

Perry, I can also be up there early to help secure the camping spot. Also are we camping at the same spot both nights? And will my camper get up there, the same one that was at the Cumbres last year. Thanks.

Dave, I may take you up on that. We will be camping at the same spot every night. Will talk with you more as we get closer.

Ken,

I'm happy to save your spot till you know for sure what's going on with the job change. Hope it goes smoothly!!

Thanks Brian. Yes, we will be camping at the same spot both nights. Your camper van get up to the spots. You just may have to come in through Pitkin or another smother way. I'll look at some routes and pm you.

Hi Perry,
I noticed this yesterday when I was checking up on the New Mexico fires.
http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/4816/
This is the Rosebud fire. I don't know if it will continue to spread but last night when I first saw the notice it was 20 acres today it is 50.

Thanks for the heads up and links. Will take a look at them today.

Hi.

New to the scene and new to the group. Very interested in getting put on the wait list if that's ok. I haven't done a group ride before and really want to get one in.

Thanks!

Since I didn't go the last few years is the camping meet up spot west of Buena Vista? 2 to 2.5 hr drive from Denver?

Folks planning on getting there Friday Evening and then returning Sunday afternoon?

Glad your checking out the group! Lots of good folk here. I'll get you on the waiting list:thumb:. There's usually lots of other runs going through the summer.

Thanks Perry

Not a problem Ken.

The camping spot is located just a bit Outside of Pitkin, Co. You can see the old railroad grade of the Colorado South Park and Pacific from camp. I'll work on some directions for you guys coming in with trailers this weekend.

Usually a good amount of folks arrive sometime Friday night, then we all head home Sunday evening. A big portion of the group does come in Saturday morning, meeting up in St. Elmo to start the weekend.

Have updated first post with current list of who's able to make it so far. I've also sent out pm's to the first two folks on the waiting list to fill void spots. If you haven't yet, please confirm if your going to be able to make the run or not, mainly for a few folks who are pretty eager to go, but are on the waiting list.

Hope every one enjoys the 4th.
