That sounds great. I’ll be at the Grand Vista Hotel Thursday night. I’m sure we can sleep 3 in there. I’ll get one with two beds. If you book on line it’s usually around $50 fyi

If anyone is interested in camping at Kane Creek for the pre-run, the owner, Craig, will give us a special rate of $10/pp/night for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Craig indicated that we can camp in the group area, unless he rents it out to another group for full price, then he will put us in another area. PM me if you are interested in camping at Kane Creek, and I will let Craig know.

I'm not going to make it. Arapahoe HS will be in the state finals competition for Winter Percussion, and my daughter is a part of the team.

Cool! About your daughter, anyway. ;)

Is there an actual itinerary for the training? Like meet up time and where? Things to be covered?

Nope not yet. I’ll post something more organized on or arround the 9th of April. There will be a meetup in GJ Friday morning and another meetup around 11ish AM in Moab.

I will probably let Jason run with organizing a camp spot. As a backup we could camp at Kans Creek.

GJ Thursday night sounds good. Makes the drive easier to break it up. May take the Subaru and look to hitch trail rides by day, or wheel the Subaru ....

Looks like about a dozen people signed up.

I'm up for any trails.

Hey guys, I've had a few things redirect my schedule and I will not be able to make it. Thanks for putting this together Jackson, pre runs are a great opportunity to learn trails and understand how to handle groups/individuals on the trail.

Always a good option for evening drives to Moab is to camp in Rabbit Valley or just randomly in et Desert west of GJ. My plans not sorted yet.

Went for a drive today to scope out some camp spots. Willow springs road was a zoo, every square inch of desert was taken by rv’s. Next I went up to area BFE. It was a lot quieter out that way. There was still a few rv’s in the open camping area past area BFE. Then I drove out to the old cell tower above area BFE. About a 1/2mile before the cell tower there is a turn off to the left. The road goes along a cliff over looking the Abahoes. I found a good size clearing with a fire pit. Also there is a ton to downed juniper a pinion so fire wood is no problem. I will post some pics and gps coordinates.

Does not look like I am going make it. Just had a catalytic converter separate and I need to get the rig to a exhaust shop. While looking into what was making the noise I was hearing I noticed a power steering leak as well. If I can get it all done by Thursday I will see you all there but I am not hopeful.

I just gave you the exhaust shop name and PS leaks are easy to fix! (how bad and from where? For now add some Lucas Stop Leak). There are trail fixes! :thumb:
