For some inexplicable reason I am totally enamored with the vintage Gibson Melody Maker. 🤷‍♂️

I can't find the name right now, but there was a company outside of Denver - maybe Littleton or Parker - that was making vehicles like this in the 60s. They'd find whatever vehicle they could get their hands on for cheap with a wrecked back half, cut the back off, and then build a camper on the back - old Cadillacs, Mercurys, Pontiacs, etc. It was a husband and wife team and they had a business name, but for all intents and purposes these were "homemade" and uniquely built depending on the chassis. They weren't around long and built around 50 of those things. Ring any bells?

This is Dan's photo (it's on Facebook and didn't show up for me).

I have no idea how much of a business it was but there's at least one around that was on the Denver Craigslist around 2013. Knowing how those cars were built, they are as much a 2WD truck as anything. Probably a better truck than they build now. It doesn't look bad at all. If they'd have taken more time to mould in the rear doors it would almost look like it was intended to be a camper.

It was seen in Capitol Hill according to a post on this page.

I also happened across this page. Now this isn't as satisfying to me. Different for sure.

It was the Great Dale House car. I found out about them as a kid and have been infatuated with the company ever since for some reason.
