Just got the renewal for the GX... I appreciate the transparency here:

so now I just have to decide if someone's going to take this car to a state park this year, hmm... what state parks would I go to? Seems like we're either in the NF or a National Park. @AlpineAccess where are you going 3-4x per month? https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Pages/ParkMap.aspx We might camp at one of those parts 1x per year... and this year have 0 plans. seems like I'd be upside down on the program here.

The one local trailhead that requires permits is Boulder, and that's a different permit system https://bouldercolorado.gov/services/osmp-parking-permits-and-fees
I realized I actually really understated our use of our pass.

We go to Boyd 2-3 times a week during the summer to swim, paddleboard, and/or get our waterski boat out for some turns if its not too crazy. Nice place for a walk/run and to do a bit of shore fishing too.

Lory is another good spot we frequent for hikes, XC Skiing, trail running. Go there once a month.

State Forest State Park over by Walden we go 3-4 times a year at least. Great winter activities like XC skiing and have rented Nordic Yurts if we can get a group to split the cost a bit as they are WAY more money than they used to be and WAY harder to book.

We've been enjoying a couple of the newer State Parks like going to Staunton for a hike that's close to town. Also enjoyed Pearl Lake State Park for paddleboarding and staying in the yurts.

Staunton is nice, we've gone there numerous times since they've opened. Golden Gate is good too, although all the trails are pretty steep. The trout in the pond at the visitor center are super entertaining, put a quarter in the bubble gum machines for some trout food, toss it in and watch them fight each other over it in feeding frenzy. Roxborough is really cool, kind of like a mini Garden of the Gods. We've been buying State Park annual passes for many years and when this started showing up in our registration renewals we were all over it!
