I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the 2JZ. That is one of the most legendary Toyota motors.
100% I’ve owned old Toyotas and now a more modern one. Even all in house vehicles are just less filling and feel cheaper, never mind one that’s a BMW. I bet that just barely broken in 1994 outlasts a 2024!

But I know Romer drives one of those Z BMWs and he’s happy with it. So I dunno, if it’s about getting you around a track fast it’s probably less important it’s a Toyota than getting you home from a trail. Unless you’re doing a Lemans. Then you want the real thing.

I am real happy with the Z4. The supra isn't a convertible which was one of the selling points on the Z4. It compliments the Land Cruiser well

JDM RK100 Stout on BaT

More pics

Note the wing window doors, bigger bed with lower fenders, different grill, different guage cluster. It's pretty much same drivetrain though.

I'll be hanging around at the end of the auction for sure!
If you're really serious about a Stout, this one just dropped in price and it's a USA left hand drive lite stout. Cooler that the jdm truck on BaT, imho.

I agree with Martin. This is way cooler than the one on BAT, and in better condition.

But what if said Stout sat on an 80 series chassis with your choice of drivetrain? Asking for a friend.
This does exist BTW..

I know it does. And if I got my hands on a Stout no matter how clean I’b be building just that with a big LS under the hood.

if I had the money, and space, and some sort of Hail Mary plan for spouse approval of another project that thing above would be on a transport truck right now.

There's a guy in Oklahoma selling a roller that would be perfect for a build like that. I will PM you his info
