And quick tip for anyone else new to this night run cookout thing- the best dishes historically have involved store bought stuff, crock pots and engine warming- something that's either already done, or involves absolutely no work. Don't stick yourself behind a grill for 30 minutes, unless that's what really makes you happy.. you're looking for fast setup and even faster tear-down, plus some quality social time.
While the weather is likely to be pretty good there's no guarantees, and we've had snow on more night runs than we haven't had snow, if that makes any sense. It will be dark, cold, and often windy... though I am optimistic that this year's cookout spot will be well protected. Bring way too much clothes and too many head lamps and you'll have a good time.
