I think I’m the only person in the universe that hasn’t had any issues with the oil pump cover screws.

Good call on the koyo rad, I recon they are the OE supplier for late model 80’s.

Recommend the brass ones, they are field reparable.
Friend had replaced seal behind crank pulley on his 80 and said he got that big bolt plenty tight...
Well it came loose coming back from the Swell, not much left of fan shroud or fan.

Brass radiator was pretty messed up also. I grabbed some solder and flux from Ace in Green River.
I straightened the fins I could and soldered up all the holes.
He bought an electric fan at auto parts store, and drove it back to Gillette, WY, think he is still running it.

the few i've done were all fairly issue free also. i did them all without the radiator being pulled. sledgehammer and knocking a screwdriver insert in the screws i think was what made the difference. once i tapped each one a bit, i was able to get them out with a 1/4 ratchet.

now the crank nut was another story. it's either 308lbs, or 1300lbs. i've broken two breaker bars on one and we never did get it loose.

Lol see the youtube thread for a video of a guy who works with scrap engines that had to bust a crank with a freaking front loader. I bet that thing took at least 1300 ftlbs.
