I like the look of quads.
I've seen some going for like 700 dollars!

I also had quad light fever and could not find them reasonably priced. During my reseaech I found that our friends down under are frequenrly looking for the US model headlights.

Easy to want what you cant have.
That’s always the case!
I too would like some more info about the quad headlights. My buddy has really been wanting to do this mod to his 97 collector model.

Those quad headlights look soooo cool. Mind sharing some details where you purchased them?
I purchased them from the Yahoo Auctions with a third party shipping/bidding company called Buyee, here is a set available now.

In addition to the lights, you need specific corner lights as the mounting points are in a different location and a grill if you are really picky, so the whole thing can add up pretty fast.

Its funny you mention it @KC Masterpiece, I came across the same thing. I was hoping I could score a set for cheap on the Australian ebay but nothing ever really came up.

Build update.
I did the valve cover gasket and replaced a few vacuum lines. It's needed a gasket likely since I bought it, so it's nice to have that done. Not pictured, but I installed a Slee steering tie rod. Mine was fatigued and it seemed like the Slee replacement was the obvious solution.

On the to do list still is rebuild the power steering pump... anyone have a spare I can rebuild? And replace the rear body mounts. The parts have been ordered; I just need to find the time.

Ive been needing to do some paint work to the bumpers and wheels. I know I wanted to make them all match the stock color, so I went about sanding and painting everything now that the weather has warmed up. The wheels were by far the most time-consuming part of the process thanks to all of the corrosion, they took forever to clean up.

I also managed to get the GFC and awning installed and the first camping trip of the season is planned in a few days.
Here is to another summer getting out in our 80 creating lifelong memories with my family.

I have a spare or two you can rebuild.
I have rebuilt ones. IIRC Romer has a thread in MUD. It’s pretty easy. I need to come as you anyway.

Sounds good! I appreciate it! I think I recall reading that thread when I first came across the leak.

Two summers have passed since I've updated this thread. Who would have thought, the 80 is still awesome! I have probably driven it less this last year than I have in the past 5. Mainly because I haven't had to commute to a site office for a while. But also, because I've purchased and sold other Land Cruisers and Toyotas since I last posted. No need to worry though. The 80 is a keeper and for that reason I prioritized driving other stuff to work and around town.

I still need to fix my leaking power steering pump, and I would really love to replace my upholstery in the next year. I also think my starter might be going out (I think I can hear it free spinning) Leaving me to think the plunger isn't doing anything. Its happened twice in the last month but after a couple cycles of the key it started both times.

We did take the 80 camping a few times and on a couple of trail runs. I also purchased some 35s to see how I liked them. I loved them, but they were down voted by my son because it was too difficult for him to climb up into it. I see 35s being put on it again in a few years though. I think that's about it for the 80. It's still my favorite vehicle.
