Myself and the Wife had a blast wheeling with all of you last year, we would like to make it up there again this year, if you'll have us? I will bring the camera, just like last time :D (maybe I can get some more pics for your calendar :thumb:

Thanks

I'd like to come along again. I'll have a passenger too. I really enjoyed the run last year.

Great! Glad you can make it again. Should be even better than last year without the snow. :D

I would like to join in the 40's run. New to the club but looking forward to it. Where and when does the meet-up take place that day? I would imagine it will be me and one passenger. Have never done a 'group' trip so I am not sure what to expect and so on.
My 40 is a 73, stock F engine, about 3" lift and 31's under it. Welding up a spare gas can rack now and getting ready for this trip specifically. Thanks guys (and girls)!

Welcome. We'll be meeting at the old Safeway lot in Aspen Park/Conifer. It's a Shopping center now and there's a Staples and Checkers there. It will be on the right hand side as you're heading West on 285. :thumb:

I think you need to change this to 25 year old or older landcruisers only, because my 60 is as cool as any 40.......... so there.:tongue2:

I considered that, but it was a big run even with just the 40's last year. I think we had close to 20 rigs. ;)

Will do. :thumb:

Planning on pre-running it this week, so I'll have a better idea of the final route soon.

Well, I was hoping we could make it again this year but a family camping trip looks like it is a go. Have a great time, bring a few extra belts, watch to make sure your fan belt doesn't slip off and look for Tim's flashlight.....you never know.

Dan and I did a pre-run of the loop today, should be awesome! The scenery up there is outstanding, even in the rain. Thanks again Dan for coming along on the High-Speed Rally of the route. :headbang: Post some pics if you can. My camera got seriously tweaked when I took a spill not looking where I was walking.

Should be a great run and the trail is passable by stock rigs with capable drivers. I'm guessing if we meet at 9am in Conifer, we'll be back to Conifer by 5ish if we stick to the Swan loop. We can extend it by doing Saints John/Deer Creek/Radical HIll/SOB Hill/Glacier Ridge, etc. :thumb:

Freakin awesome teaser. OK I'm in for sure!

Glad you're on board. :thumb:

Me too, really looking forward to it. First official run for me and this cruiser. Any idea how many 40's we might have altogether?

Looks like about 20 people have expressed interest, but we'll see. It will be a fun run whether there are 2 or 20. :zilla:

I didn't get many pics before mangling my camera, but here are a couple of Dan heading up one of the more difficult stretches. Really loose and steep in the rain. The last pic is the same hill Dan is climbing from a distance.

There were a few other loose and steep sections of trail, but everything has easier bypasses. We didn't get to try SOB Hill on the way back out, but that might be a possibility if anyone wants to run it.

Just a suggestion to everyone planning on attending: I would highly recommend a CB or HAM in your rig. It's probably the best mod you can make if you're planning on doing group runs. This trail has a lot of intersections and with a larger group, it really helps as we relay directions while moving down the trail.

Also, don't forget to wear good footwear, bring a hat, sunscreen, lunch, lots of water, raingear, and common spare parts/tools if you have them.

Again, the meeting spot is the shopping center off 285 in Conifer that has the Staples/Checkers. It's the exit next to the Bradley/Sinclair gas station. Meet at 9:00am, Satuday July 31st.

We'll be on CB4 and HAM 146.460

I am so stoked for this one, thanks Martin! How long you figure the trail is timewise? I am planning on all day, but I was just curious. Thanks!

Great pics Martin :thumb:

What is that behind Dan in the first pic? Looks like a top fuel dragster with the body lifted in the up position or maybe a sprint dirt cart with the wing :hill:

The second picture looks like a 40 scale model...

I'd say keep these pics in mind for the 2011 calendar

That was an atv with the 2 riders standing by. We actually helped them out later in the day after they flipped their atv and lost a bunch of oil. Nice folks though.
