Darn. I really want to attend and expect carpet will be done, but also was thinking about a race that weekend. Will need to think over this.

Darn, we will be on a different sort of trail at the time and won’t be able to make it. Really disappointed but I look forward to seeing the pics of all the cool trucks that will be there. Jim, you will have no problem finding the lake, just keep going up! For those that would like a more challenging route check out Red Elephant Hill. It joins Bill Moore Trail about halfway to the lake and is pretty gnarly these days. Have fun, everyone.

I'm out too. I only have enough vacation time for 1 trip West this year and its looking to be end of Sept, early Oct.

Oh no! I guess I'll have to lead everyone into the wilderness alone then, what a sad day it will be.

I think I mentioned in one of the first posts that if folks want to run Red Elephant Hill on the way back, they're free to do so, but I ain't leading that parade. Consult with @Crash on the difficulty level, band together, designate your own trail leader, and have fun.

I work Saturdays. I am planning on doing Bill Moore in the 250 before it gets too snowy though. I led Bill Moore for the after-Rally run for many years. There should still be a lot of wildflowers up there. Picture below is from 2006.

I know... And I have not really gone wheeling or camping at all this year other than an April backpacking trip in Utah.

Its been an absolute crazy year. Move, home purchase, and my company decided to not renew our contract at the property I manage and there are all sorts of threats of litigation floating around. Stress really got to me and I ended up dropping out of Leadville 100 last weekend after 900hrs of training in 2024... To top that off this last weekend my boss was let go. There is a 50k in Empire I was considering that weekend as a pick me up.

Some easy wheeling would be good for me..... I have Moab 240 in October.. Trying to get my head back into the right space to run for 3 to 4 days. I will probably be ready for some driving after that!

Yep, think I got it semi right. Details I can work on later (will not ever run a recommended snorkel, ever) Cold air intake (IAT) thing. Extra FRS, Going/Camping, yes.
Properly do a trail and absolute shake down Medano run before the 7th then.
