What route did you take? It doesn't look like you did Italian Creek Road? That rocky spot near the creek seems to me to be on Taylor Pass, did you leave from Dorchester and go over Taylor Pass first?

Great pics, sorry I missed it...:(

And no, vapor locking on an FJ40 is not normal...you guys need to get that fixed ;)

Wes, thanks for the great leadership on the run. I have been waiting to do this for a few years. Everyone was fun to be around and made me feel welcome with the group.

I will be uploading movies to YouTube, but at over 250 MB apiece, it may take a few days.

Hey Matt!

We left from Dorchester and did Taylor Pass first, then Pearl after lunch. Camped near the bottom of Pearl Saturday then Sunday morning headed out to Schofield, looped around Lead King Basin and back over Schofield into Crested Butte before heading home. Lots of seat time, but man the weather was perfect, the views spectacular and everyone had a great time! Those beers :beer2: at the end of the day were great medicine for all of the trail dust though.

Yeah, had a great time on this run. Will definitely do it again, though I may bring the 40 next time. I can't believe I got the low rider through that trail almost completely unscathed! I had one rock move on me and jam up into the running board and pin me pretty good, but the board actually survived quite well. Can't even tell without crawling underneath. Sliders cometh!

I will have to think about the route for next year. :D we had 2 different camp spots and 2 long days. It was great to mix it up this year.

In your opinion is this run OK for a trailer? I hope to be pulling one by next year this time. If I am it will be rolling on 35's;) with lots of clearance.
IMO i think you would be alright just might upset any oncoming traffic.

well - with my long arse wheelbase, I would say it would be sketchy in a couple of places, mainly from an off-camber, non-driven axle, slip over the edge perspective.

There were several spots that were real sketchy for me getting my big tail around spots that were shelves.

It would probably be ok if you had seat time with the trailer. Taylor is getting tougher in spots. There are a couple tricky spots on pearl with a double fall line on the Aspen side. It would be preferable if you have been over schofield to know the trail before you pulled a trailer on it.

Also this was unique change to the normal route. I can't guarantee next year will be the same route.

Looks like a great trip, we were there about 5 weeks earlier and had some snow to deal with. It is a beautiful area that I would like to explore some more when I have the time.

Luke UB asked who is the Montero owner it looks great.
