I also got the rear doors done. New OEM door seals, lock and latch. Replated mechanisms and new OEM strikers. New OEM license plate lights with new OEM covers and original bracket powder coated black. Cosmoline in the door cavities as well as on top on the license plate lights where they rust.

The bumperettes and pintel finally at home for good.

I finally Got the glass done in the rear and the Tool bag found its home with the factory tools in it. Jack rods powder coated brown and replated mounts. I started mocking up the roll bar it needs some tweaking.

I found all the little rubber bumpers at Steele Rubber Products in Denver. Phew. I figured I was SOL on those since they are all NLA from Toyota.

I just finished rebuilding and installing the door limiters. I also couldn't help installing the lower dash pads. I ended up getting them from SOR. The ones from FJ40dash.com didn't have the right finish and looked kinda cheap as a result. I'm kinda bummed since I ended up buying them twice but the SOR ones really look great so I'm happy about that.

I also got a reproduction radio blank plate. I was going to install a radio but I haven't bought an OEM fj40 one yet and the original FJ60 one that I have won't fit the stock opening. This will do for now and also keeps me from having to drill an antenna hole for now also...

I've avoided the wiring harness long enough... that's next. I got a few connectors and some wire from coolerman on mud as well as new loom to do it up right and fix the PO hacks. I also got all the stock wire ties to affix it properly to the body.

Thanks for the reminder... yes I need some, what'd you glue it on with?

factory was butyl tape. let me know if you find a good source...i need to find some to put new slider windows in puff. an auto glass shop or a body shop are good places to check

WOW! Marco, your 40 is a thing of beauty! I remember starting out on guitar and seeing amazing players and realizing it made me want to practice harder... or QUIT!

I am starting to feel intimidated to start yours is SOOOO nice man! I am so stoked about what mine could be but I think my budget will fall short in reaching my dream cruiser. Either way, your build is super inspiring man, keep it up. I am living out my dreams through your efforts!

Alright, I need to find them, also Old Man Crase PM'ed me about them earlier so he's got first dibbs. I need to find them and we can go from there but my guess is he wants them.

Yeah Drew, I have collected parts over the last 4 years so the cost impact isn't so felt right now thank god. Needless to say it has not been a cheap process!

That's a good point. Time to look at the budget. Who did you use for your plating? Is that cadmium or yellow zinc?
