Hey all?
Does anyone know of a 16.5” tire that isn’t a bias ply? Even better if it can run studs. I’m going to need tires in the dodge plow truck at some point but all Google shows me is non radial options.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

The only ones that pop into my head are old HMMWV tires, but those are 37s. Can be had for cheap. Can the dodge fit 37s?

Here and Here mostly old 10 Ply goodyear MTRs

not much is available for 16.5 anymore...
Interco Super Swamper, Maxxis, and the MTR's Angelo mentioned are about it.
I'm sure there are a few odd name tire companies too.... 16.5 is about extinct.

Abe you don’t want the HMMWV Goodyear Wrangler MT’s for snow plowing…ask me how I know. Especially not where you live! While they might be ok for on the road as they are a hard tread and wear well they need to be siped at a minimum. Also I found that their width will work against you for traction as it reduces your PSI on the ground. Chains might help? I have a set of chains for them but never put them on. Again…this is just my humble opinion. But to be fair I did use the MT’s to plow with on my M1097A2 while the M1028A2 was getting LS swapped.

If you’re going to get HMMWV tires…I would go after either the Wrangler Enforcer MT’s (they used to be called the MTR’s) or the BFG Baja’s. Just be sure to look at the DOT date code!!!

Abe:

We had 16.5s on Dad's Town Wagon for a while. Best thing we ever did for that truck was replacing the wheels so that we could get normal tires. I'd bet you can junkyard some steel wheels pretty cheap and be money ahead of trying to stick with 16.5 tires.
