It’s 3 different slee harnesses over the years. It’s the non-Toyota headlight connector that has failed (2x right side, once on the left).
While I was replacing the connectors to an H4, I checked the resistance of all the wires for exactly that reason. 0.03 ohms was the highest.
There are fuses.
I assume that the non-Toyota connector is just ever so slightly looser fitting than Toyota, and that it must wiggle more and gets some water in there at an in opportune time to case it to burn up. None of them have been slow, they’ve always just not worked one day with no browning ahead of time when I’ve checked.
None matter, because now I’ve got quality H4 sockets on there that I also covered up with heat shrink.

FWIW I pack the sockets full of dielectric grease on pronged headlight connections. Doesn't necessarily help with loose fit but seems to help with water intrusion.
I had a bulb(s) failure less than a year after installing the Slee headlight harness on my 80. I came out of a restaurant to the parking lot after dinner one evening and both headlights were out. I had to drive home using the high beams.
I found a thread (either here or on mud) that described similar issues with the Slee harness.
The solution was to pack the connectors with dielectric grease and zip tie them together to hold the connection tight.
It’s been around two years since then and I haven’t had any issues. Knock on wood.
I’ve’nt thought much about it since then, but the size of the connector could certainly be a factor.
