Just curious: what's the obsession/fascination that folks have with PTO winches? Why would anyone prefer this over a nice modern electric winch?

I have a 3-spd PTO and the winch to go with it if anyone is interested in buying one or knows someone who is. I had to take it off my FJ40 when I got my Orion. Apparently the Orion casting was a little off causing the gears to bind something awful. So I had to switch to an electric. The nice thing about a PTO is they will run all day with out overheating.:)

Yes for the 3.4 l motor, not for the 3L(which went out in 95ish), now offered for the 4l and soon (if not now) for the 5.7l motor. zoom zoom
I think I remember the supercharger not working so well with the early one or something like that(something to do with leaning out to much under WOT). I did not really pay that much attention to the article, not really cruiser related, more the dark side.

Shoot you could fit 4 FJ40s on there if you packed them nice and tight - what is the Frame length of an FJ40? Can't be MUCH more than 12 ft, if it is then you can have a couple feet hanging off the front and a couple feet hanging off the back ;) There you go $1000 apiece + tow vehicle fuel to haul your FJ40 to the Rubithon. ;)
