I actually just installed the same headlights as corbet, Boslla chameleon led’s. I’m having a little difficulty getting the rings to lock into the housing. The company supposedly says the headlight socket is worn out. And that could be, but the regular old bulbs fit tightly.

Here’s a video of them in action.

Funny story, I was looking on TEQ and pricing out a set of lights for my 3rd gen since my silver stars aren't putting out enough light to compete with the new LEDs on the road messing with my night vision. They are fine until I cross paths with the much brighter lights. Well, long story short, I had put together a set with most of the bells and whistles and had an issue with the hairless cat's tail touching my screen and placing the order. Sent an email immediately and they sent back that all headlight sales are final. So, new headlights with LED projectors, multi- light temp function, and etched projector lens are coming my way at some point. These better be worth it! Otherwise, the cat must go!

Teq customs? I went to one of their rigs n coffee events a few months ago. They’ve go a pretty sweet setup and shop. Their work all looks good but I have read a few reviews that it wasn’t the best quality..but that was also when they were relocating shops it appeared. Hopefully you don’t have any issues once you get your lights all installed.

They are in one of the Carolinas. I was pretty disappointed with there cancelation policy, especially considering I spoke with them immediately. I can't think of any cost incurred in that timeframe where having that policy would justify their response.

As an online retailer myself that is a BS response. Unless their point-of-sale transfers money instantly then there is no % loss to cancel that order. Opening a chargeback is what I would be doing

I hadn't even been charged before I sent the email and spoke on the phone with them. It soured me to them a bit.

Definitely an unacceptable policy. The chargeback will go in your favor if you submit email with time of purchase and asking for cancellation

That's not what their policies say: https://teqcustoms.com/policies/refund-policy
Regardless, if you want a refund, make a fuss.

Yup that’s the shop I’m thinking about. That response is messed up and a pretty piss poor way to get a sale. Good to know, cuz I’ve considered doing some business with them but maybe not now.

Boslla has a few options in the 9006 size - 80 Series Low Beam.
I have and like Baja Designs LP6's. They come on with my higbeams if I want. I prefer the Amber over white. Bright, not harsh. All BD lights are 5000K. The Amber is in the lens or lens cover. It changes the color but not the color temperature. That's a BD "thing".

Yes, Chameleon offers all that, but would I ever want 6500k?

AI result below.

AI Says:

for many drivers, the human eye perceives better, clearer, and more detailed vision with
6500K (cool white/daylight) LED headlights compared to standard halogen bulbs (~3200K). The cooler color temperature provides higher contrast against the dark road and mimics daylight, making it easier to identify objects, signs, and hazards.
However, "better" is highly situational, as 6500K headlights offer superior visibility in dry conditions but perform poorly in rain, snow, or fog.
Here is a detailed breakdown of how 6500K compares to halogen:

Why 6500K Feels "Better"
  • Higher Contrast and Clarity: 6500K light is closer to natural daylight, which helps the human eye pick up details and road markers more effectively than the warm yellow tint of halogens.
  • Perceived Brightness: Although headlight color does not determine brightness (lumens do), the cooler, white light of 6500K is perceived as brighter, more intense, and modern.
  • Reduced Eye Fatigue: The bright white light can keep drivers more alert during long night drives.

Limitations of 6500K
  • Poor Weather Performance: High Kelvin lights (6000K+) have shorter wavelengths that bounce off moisture. In rain or snow, this results in significant glare and reduced visibility compared to the penetrating power of yellowish (lower Kelvin) lights.
  • Increased Glare: The 6500K, blue-white light can produce more glare, which can be harsh for oncoming traffic, causing temporary loss of vision for other drivers.

6500K vs. Standard Halogen Comparison

Feature 6500K LED HeadlightsStandard Halogen (3000K-3500K)
ColorCool White/DaylightWarm Yellowish/Amber
VisibilityHigh (Dry), Low (Rain/Fog)Good (Fog/Rain), Fair (Dry)
Perceived BrightnessVery HighLow to Moderate
LifespanLong (15,000-50,000+ hrs)Short (500-1,000 hrs)
Eye FatigueCan be higher due to intensityGenerally lower

Summary Recommendation
  • Best for 6500K: Fair-weather driving, well-lit urban areas, and rural roads with no rain/fog.
  • Best for Halogen/Lower K: Frequent driving in fog, rain, or snow.
For most drivers upgrading from halogen, a, 5000K–6000K range is considered the "sweet spot"—it provides the desired "white" light without the excessive blue glare of 6500K+ bulbs.

@Inukshuk I also went with the Chameleon model that corbet has and posted the pix of tonight in the other thread. Itll be interesting to see how the visibility changes in poor weather conditions between the different colors the chameleon bulbs offer.

I agree that the BD lights offer a really good color temp. Although I run mine with the clear lenses.

The 6500 setting on the Chameleons is my preferred setting unless foul weather. The 3000 setting really drops the beam low and you loose tons of distance. It’s cool in the snow but you wouldn’t drive HWY speeds with them. At least I wouldn’t.

Between the Chameleon bulbs and the two settings of my LP9’s I feel like if got tons of choices on the open road.
