Got a product launch email this morning.

Introducing the Alu-Cab OLAF can crusher. Can’t wait to see the MSRP on this bad boy. And the certain to follow Overland Journal product test and comparison. Hope they include the $5 Harbor Freight unit.

The Can Ram (love the name) that $24 gets ya at Wal-Mart doesn't mount on a Molle plate but does one-up it on tacticool by having a 10 round double stack magazine.

Who crushes cans anymore? Last time I scrapped 450 lbs of clean aluminum. Coolers, housing etc and got like .15 cents a lb

Not worth taking in or dealing with Hassel of getting a screw through your tire at the scrap yard

I hate to be the green guy here, but also don’t forget that current single source standards are to not crush cans, as they don’t sort well when crushed. :)
Didn't know that. Still gonna crush them, though. We're not single source here in GJ anyway. I'm like Corbet, it's mostly about the virtue signaling for me.

Really? I didn't know that. I crush all my cans by hand to maintain my massive grip strength.

What's hilarious is I was going to say that. BUT if you are trying to save space in your trasharoo.... AND you don't care about recycling.. maybe it's a solution? Me personally? I like getting good at the single stomp total can crush. Its the most satisfying sound around a campfire other than maybe a cannon.

Still working on a good crush technique between my ass cheeks.

We don't have an option for recycling pickup here rurally. So I have to haul recyclables. At the county run site I can drop glass off for free. Everything else has a charge based on volume. Meanwhile the local private companies will pay me for aluminum. So when it comes to cans I follow capitalism over wasteful government run facilities. I get my $1.25 for a trash bag of empties.

Our system here in GJ is quasi-gubermint. It's a private company that has a sole contract and I surmise a really good deal on rent or use of a building on city property. They take the stuff that has a market that's buying it - aluminum cans, food-grade steel cans (no scrap metal), cardboard, paper, glass and plastic bottles - and I think make a very small profit.

I worked for an aluminum recycling company way back when...We shredded the aluminum cans that we got loose from the public, and blew the shred directly in to containers that were shipped to the furnace. The bales, and biscuits were shipped direct to the smelting furnace and charged directly in the mix. Hand smashing the cans for the space saving doesn't effect the process from the recycler...

Just saying....

*edit* removed my reply to keep it family friendly. Those of you who know me can use imagination. You're probably right.

BREAKING NEWS: ALU-CAB RUINS RECYCLING - SIGNALS THEY HATE THE ENVIRONMENT
Maybe they should introduce a mounting attachment for the Side by Side market! Crush those cans so they take up less space in the environment when they get thrown out the window. :ROFLMAO:
