:) original spring green! so many cool little original things that my 64 didn't have. A new soft top is on my list for sure! I think I want to restore this to as close to original as possible, it is just too solid with so many thing still there. I do wish he hadn't cut a hole in the dash for a tiny radio speaker....

My stolen 64 was an fst orignally but had a later model hard top wedged on there

And a local 62 on MUD.

Am I drunk or does it look like the rear shock support tube broke off and was welded onto the muffler? I can't tell whats going on.

And a good looking local 62 on MUD.

scary with all the undercoating sprayed everywhere. you can see the rust was pretty bad in some areas on the frame. enough that they jerry rigged a c channel in and replaced the shock tube. and why isn't the sway bar hooked up? i'd look that one over very carefully before purchase. at least he's not asking 25k

Yeah I just went through the full gallery and its a 4k truck. Lots of funk underneath and bondo spread like cream cheese on the rockers.

On 2nd look it appears the rear shock support tube is disconnected and the shocks are so shot they are sitting at full compression.

The C channel is a trail tailor product for extra support there on crustier frames. Those are also installed on my 60.

I considered this when it was listed by the same guy last year. He said he wanted to get it fixed first before he sold it. The photo link he shared is from last year before the work started. The two photos embedded in the add look like the work in progress. I would assume the framework will look better when it comes back on March 8th like he says. I wonder who is doing to the work though.

More photos. It's more than superficial. These things happen, it's an old truck and it's not so far gone that it's can't be saved.

What bugs me is trying to gloss over it but saying it's surface rust and always garaged implying it's an old granny's Sunday car.

It is what it is, no need to fib.

Note to self (and all the other voices in my head), never list a car with a battery jumper in ANY photo let alone connected tot he car in multiple photos AND never list a car for sale in Boulder with a Montana title but the car is actually in Sacramento CA.

That pig looks better than most but I wonder how much bondo is under the rattle can paint job and not sure what is going on with the rhino liner looking stuff on the lower half. I've always wanted a FJ55 even tho the CFO thinks they are hideous looking. Throw on some correct turn signals, remove the tint, install original rims and that it would be looking presentable. I'd probably be looking at this in person if it was closer.

That pig isn't horrible, but a 302 would be working hard to provide enough torque and horsepower to move it.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......sold to me. I happened to be in his neighborhood kinda when the ad posted and I love the idea of replacing my stolen 64 40 with a "new"one. (He actually lives less than a couple of miles from the last known place my stolen 40 was seen! I drove right by it...)

Very solid, purrs like a new sewing machine. Has an awesome story behind it, I will post up a build thread soon. This guy rescued it from a field from the original owner who said it was the first 40 sold in Boulder county. And this field is one that burned in the Marshall fire. Whew! The original owner had hand written notes from the very first day in 1964 when he traded in a jeep for the 40, and the very first line item is $6.00 for insurance. :) Toyota Trails, anyone?
Good to know where this is ending up. Very bummed that it won't get built by the gentleman you bought it from (good friend of mine). I actually helped him pull it out of the field in Boulder county. In fact, we used my truck and trailer to get it out of there. Here are a few photos from that adventure.

Best of luck and skill to you. Would love to see this get back out on the road.

Yeah, it's actually located in California and they're not very responsive.

That's freaking awesome! I smell a Toyota trails story. 😁 We might have to chat! The guy I bought it from is a really awesome dude.
