We might be in. I'd love to do this. I put this on the RS Calendar. Thanks Perry!

We’re definitely in again! Being earlier this year, we’ll bring the tent being warmer weather.

Looking good for me

EDIT: question. Looking at the trip reports looks like you follow trains or at least the tracks to see multiple trains camping at night. Youstart in New Mexico (?) and end up ?

It looked like all dirt or Forrest roads from the pics.

I haven't been and just wanted a few more details

Thanks

ken

Ken,

We ride the train one day (going from Chama to Antonito) and chase it two days. One day being from Chama to Osier and Sublette and the other day (in the morning) we chase it on the Antonito side to Sublette. The dirt roads are easy, providing us with another way to see the train.

As for camp, we stay at a spot above the old track maintenance town of Sublette, NM. A wonderful spot against the aspens with good views of the San Luis Valley and the Sangre de Christos. We stay at the same camp for the trip.

As we get closer, i'll have Dan S set up the group reservation for the train ride. Plan to ride it Friday.

I'm in. Might even bring the better half and puppy. 🙂

Brian, convince your wife to come along. We enjoyed your company so much, Carolyn would love to meet her!

Fly out?

Perry, c’mon man, you’re classier than that! You’re more like Braunschweiger!! Haha

Don't quite know what that is, but hopefully better?:D

Thanks for the offer! We shall see in the next couple months if I have the $$$ to make it happen... getting married is entirely too expensive when the other half buys into the wedding industrial complex 🙄🙄🙄
