Hey Guest: Wed. April 1st is the next Rising Sun meeting, and you won't want to miss it. We're doing our annual offroad recovery equipment demonstration and trail skills training aka "Jack It Night" at Envision Fabrication. Meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. (early). All are invited to attend! Click for more information and location.
Chime in here if you are for sure going, I will update the first thread. We will meet up the morning of the 6th, but we need to talk a little amongst the people who will be attending. I try and customize our trail and route to our attendees each year. Sometime we just want a chill country drive and see some pretty colors and stay the heck away from Guanella Pass! And sometimes we have a group that wants something a little more challenging.
Last year we did Argentine Pass and 2 years ago it was the east side of Rollins pass and then apex back to the reservoir near Central City for lunch.

Of the people who are definitely going, are you looking for a more relaxed ride? A harder trail? Something in between? Regardless, it will be a fabulous day. I am actually doing a little pre-run this Sunday with my boys, anyone is welcome to come.
On Sept 6, we will meet at the Jeffco Fairgrounds at 9, wheels up at 9:30. Trail TBD after we discuss a little more here.
1 is for a more relaxed and a chill drive in the mountains. We did this 2 years ago and it was a little short but gorgeous and fun. I would extend the run also! Start going up the east side of rollins pass, go check out the train tunnel at the bottom then go back to Apex and follow it back towards blackhawk and have lunch at the reservoir. Then there are a couple of nice side trails that each take an hour or so, the Nevadaville Loop, and Oh My God Road/Russel Gulch. All easy roads.
2 would be what we did last year, Argentine Pass. Pretty easy up top, a little harder down below. Gorgeous lunch spot. And we can always cleanup the trail a little too.
Or...
West side of Rollins Pass? I always see a moose or 2 up there and last time saw a bear!
Webster Pass up to Montezuma, maybe Peru Creek and take Loveland Pass home?
