Anyone know how a 2023 truck made it? Was Toyota giving it a test? Looks to be the same drive train and Frame as the new 300 series that we can't buy here. The Body also seems to be sleeker. TRD Pro Version comes with a rear locker and its a Hybrid so should get reasonable gas mileage while being able to tow 9000lbs

This looks like a legitimate option for an offroad Toyota unless I am missing something. Significantly improved over the previous version

They are usually on a modified tundra chassis, so probably a little bit wider than a land cruiser. Probably a great candidate for off road.

It's on the same global chassis as the new LC and the tundra. It's basically a US spec cruiser now

Toyota brought a 2022 TRD Pro Tundra and the 2023 TRD Pro Sequoia to Cruise Moab. Daniel and myself took Toyota out on Thursday to run 7 mile rim. We had 18 vehicles in total from Toyota and multiple media outlets. Both the Tundra and Sequoia are equally impressive, they're just two giant vehicles.

The Sequoia only comes with the hybrid motor as apposed to the Tundra which comes with two (technically 3) power trains. The Sequoia is ment to be the replacement for the LC300 in the NA market.

It's kind of silly and not sure why Toyota/Lexus did this but we can buy the Lexus LX600 (LC300) which is supposed to be the top of line model but you can't get a hybrid motor, only the 3.4 TT. Yet the Sequoia only comes with the 3.4TT hybrid. Go figure?

I need to look at more of the published dimensions, the Sequoia seemed more compact in person, like smaller than a 200 to me but I didn't get to spend much time around it. Maybe the built rigs made it look more compact? Just didn't seem so gigantic like the old Sequoias. Interested to see more of them in the wild and where they take it.
So cool that Toyota came out to play with us this year!

Props to the Cruise Moab Committee and @RayRay27 for outreach to Toyota that evolved into about 24 engineers, including Mike Sweers, the chief engineer (CE) for Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner, and Sequoia attending Cruise Moab! Ray's outreach eventually got to Senior Program Manager Bob Kupina who I have spoken with before. Bob called me and a few other Toyota fans he know. I was able to assist Ray and the Committee in logistics and coordination. Then the Toyota Truck / Land Cruiser community connections took over and we ended up on the trail with some great friends in addition to the Toyota folks. Woody (www.ih8mud.com), Scott Brady (www.expeditionportal.com), Ben Crockett (www,4wdtoyotaowner.com), Seth Kovanic (FJ Summit Director), and Bob & Kayla Holiday (with me for TCT Magazine). @cruiseroutfit Kurt and company led the group Friday.

The Sequoia is meant to be the replacement for the LC300 in the NA market.
Not a statement officially endorsed by Toyota ;-)

I'd have to look up the specs, but the Sequia is wider and longer than the LC 300. Very capable for it's size off road, but not a LC. The LX600 is the closest we will come to a 300 in the US. The Sequia is more similar to the Tundra than the LC.

The wheel base on the Sequoia was longer than I would have expected. That may have created the perspective that it was narrower than it seemed.

Yeah, it’s a boat. That should be enough reason to keep it off the trails.

I am not saying I want one, but interested in finding more about it. Can't find dimensions to see if it is bigger than my 200 or the 300. Same frame and engine set up as the LC300. Hybrid should get great gas mileage and can still tow my camper

Likely keep my 200 for years, but nice to see an option since the LC wont be coming for now. So this and the Lexus LX600 and the GX460 seem to be the options for now. Maybe once the get the EV thing down they will bring in the 70 series

What if they discontinued the "Land Cruiser" in the US with the Sequoia bascially being its replacement so that the Land Cruiser name can be revived with a 40 series style retro suv like the new Bronco?

I did see a concept cruiser photo that was smaller and maybe after a few years that will be what they do
