The open rig is a 3rd gen runner w/ a mild lift and 32's or 33's. not sure what the metric size translates to.
The majority of Red Cone can be driven in 2WD. You're fine. :thumb: There's really only one significant obstacle towards the beginning of the trail. It's one boulder in the middle of the trail that has to be climbed over just so. But it's not bad.

can somebody post the location of the meet as well as a trail map?

Google Red Cone Trail, CO and you'll see what you want. Meet location is approx. 12 miles beyond Conifer on Hiway 285. I did a Mapquest search of distance from Conifer to Loaf 'n Jug and it showed the location being on Bull Dogger Rd. and gave me the mileage from Conifer. Hope that helps you. A Colorado Gazetteer is a great addition to any map collection.

<Edited to remove link to wrong meeting spot.>

Trail Damage page on Red Cone (they have a topo map):

http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=9

It's Trail #59 in the 2nd edition of Charles Wells' Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4WD Trails. I carry the Delorme Gazetter and would use Trails Illustrated #104.

My family and I will be headed that way. We'll be leaving Broomfield at 7-7:30-ish to meet in Conifer by 9am

We are meeting at the Loaf 'n Jug at 173 Bull Dogger Pl, Bailey, CO. Bull Dogger Rd is also shown as County Rd 43A and is right before the top of Crow Hill above Bailey. A Mapquest search for directions between Conifer and the address will get you there. I've changed the post on page one of this thread to the proper location.

Any room on this one for a prospective member? I joined the forum after meeting a couple members at Station 26 (brewery in Park Hill) and have been enjoying the trip reports. I've been hoping to do Red Cone this year, and I should be able to make this one. Would be great to meet y'all.

Who did you meet there? I love that place. My wife and I try to get there as often as possible.

I should have some space for anyone who wants to ride along. Between one and three available seats in the Albino Rhino.

Hi guys, we are interested in coming out as well. We have a stock 200 series LC - after reading the Trail Damage description, would I be right in thinking this should be doable?

As an aside the last time I owned a LC I passed my ham test and bought a handheld but have never had the opportunity to use it. Assuming you guys think we should be able to make it up (and down the other side) we we would love to come out. Thanks!
