Probably not really the point of this thread but it DOES say random photos :D:D:D

This guy did at least a 540 degree spin in front of me yesterday outside of Burns, Oregon on US 20. Everyone was fine. No damage to the truck. I waited a while and made sure traffic was slowing down before we continued on (at their insistence). There was cell coverage and plenty of traffic in case they couldn't get it out once they dug out the truck enough and finished cleaning out their pants.

I was driving my Subaru Forester rather than the 4runner so I didn't have a winch or snatch strap to help pull them out. All evidence was that at least one other vehicle had done the same thing in the same stretch of road (see the tire tracks off to the right?) in the last 24 hours.

Oh and the worst thing? My dash cam malfunctioned and shut off about five minutes before the guy did his spinout! Afterward in Burns when I was getting gas, I was able to reset the cam and everything is fine again. Two years of flawless operation and nothing interesting happens. Five minutes of the camera being out of commission and this happens.

YIKES!

LOL Yeah, figures... :(

A couple weeks ago, we had a snow storm come in late in the afternoon, and 285 turned into an ice skating rink. I was watching car after car just fall right off the road in front of me for miles going up the canyon. The ditch was filled with stuck vehicles, some piled up against each other. Everything from Porsches to large 4WD trucks. When I saw the first one go I thought I'd stop and help. Then four more slid off the road all at the same time right behind him. And I thought, "screw this!". There were 4WD's sliding off with all four wheels spinning. I was really glad for my KO2's.
Also, a tractor trailer had slid into a jackknife and was completely blocking the North bound lane half way down the canyon.

What a mess.

Is that a Patrol with 80-series rims?

Either that or a Montero. I was over there for a week, saw a few Prado's, some American Highlanders and Rav-4's, but not one Land Cruiser- this is the only built vehicle I saw, and he was literally pulling out when I got out of the car I was in, I was walking over to talk to him when he drove off. here are two more...

If you've never had fresh Halibut minutes after its been caught... You're seriously missing out.

That was back in '08 in a place called Port Dick. About 150 miles south of Homer Alaska. Accessible only by boat or sea plane.
Absolutely stunning spot. One of my favorite places while I was there.
