woke up last saturday morning and decided we needed to camp. work stress has been at an all time high and no amount of running/cycling has been able to alleviate it. i needed to get the hell out of dodge even if it was just for one night.

i packed up the truck, woke up the 's and said let's go. we wound up at dillon reservoir just after lunch. spent the afternoon wandering breck in the rain. then stayed up late and watched the meteor shower (a first for the girls).

even though it was just one night, roxy's reaction pretty much sums it up...

unfortunately, no. i hadn't packed the tripod and the shower was an unexpected gift. i didn't realize what was going on until we got home sunday. going to try and plan better for the next one.

it was a long approach that we hiked at a pretty brisk pace. trekking poles make it feel like cross country skiing.

So you go downhill mountain biking every weekend up at winter park but then you have time to do big walls and go to the creek? Man I wish I had your job (not only for the time off, but for the $$ to pay for gas doing all that running around! )
