I am planning to leave Eagle around mid day tomorrow and be in Moab Friday morning hopefully early. I didn’t sign up any runs yet and most of it is fine with me. I prefer not doing hells and maybe fins and thighs since I did that in the past. I do have a stock 45 with no lockers and could not make it up top of the world earlier this year.
See you guys there.

Folks - if there are trails you’d suggest/prefer, please shout out. The signup sheet (thank you again @PawprintsAndTacos ) is formally informal! We want to be sure all sorts of trails are represented and nobody feels like they’ll be over their head/comfort level.

Bruno! I ran Top of The World with you last year. There is a legitimate bypass there that I discovered second time around doing it. It pops you out right on top of the step section. You could get around there if you wanted a redemption run!

I was attempting to do the bypass. There was a really tall last step on the bypass and I couldn’t do it. I have no lockers and 30 inch tires 🤣. I sure would like to go to the top and take a picture from the 45 on the cliff edge.

Get @BatteredTravels little white billy goat in front of you so he can give you a pull up the tough spots. Maybe stack a couple rocks and traction boards.

Need to see that 45 up there!

From what I remember you dropped down the hill then went left to try and go around that way. I learn't the second time doing it that before you drop down there is a track to the right that stays up on top the whole way and puts you out right at the top of the steps. From memory we had stock vehicles on that run that went around without issue. I agree with @Johnny Utah we gotta see that 45 up on top!

You may have found the alternative route @rover67 and I found at CM 2019.

The side-by-sides had at that point started making a line to the left as you're approaching the steps that at first seemed like an easy bypass but quickly got harder and impossible for a full size truck to turn around. We ended up getting my truck bridged with no tires really touching, had to winch my nose up a ledge.

Suffice to say this is not the bypass. I haven't tried running TOTW lately, so I'm only assuming no effort has been made to block it.

The rest of the group had found the correct bypass. Which was a bit embarrassing as I was the run leader.

I have some firewood that I'm planning on bringing. It's pretty dry so I'm guessing that it's going to burn well. It's good sized cross sections of a crabapple we cut down about 3 years ago. I'll keep it whole so it burns longer.

Does anyone else have some firewood that they can toss in the back of their truck?

I'll throw a box of wood in as well.

@Mag71k5 We could smoke everyone out rolling coal! I could stay up all night replacing the F/R brakes and adding extended brake lines. Also blow off the meetings I'm leading tomorrow. I need to get my priorities straight!

Brakes, extended brake lines? Who needs em. Employment is overrated compared to climbing over cool looking rocks. 🤣

Next time then!

Having issues with my trailer lights. Not going to make it to the spot near Rabbit Valley tonight. Going to stay at a friend's place south of Grand Junction. Will head out for Moab early Friday morning. Sorry for the confusion.
