Do we have a shortlist of trails we're thinking of hitting? Happy to Lead / Gun as long as it's one I'm familiar with etc.

Think I'm currently going to try and get out Thursday night or Friday morning. Will likely trailer out as I'm soft and like the comforts of the truck camper :D
Thoughts include:
  • Poison Spider
  • Fins and Things
  • Hell's Revenge
  • Top of the World
  • Metal Masher
Please chime in!

I’d be down for Metal Masher as it’s the only one I haven’t done. I’ll probably head west on Friday morning. Is anyone planning to wheel on Friday?

Also down for Metal Masher or Poison Spider, have not run either. Happy to lead Top of the World if there's interest, have run that a bunch. Would also throw out Jax Trax as I've not run that but heard it's a great drive.

I'm a little late to respond, but any of those trails sound great to me. I don't have a ton of trail leading experience, but am pretty familiar with Finns and Hells and am happy to help as needed. Poison Spider was a favorite of ours from Cruise Moab this year, and Top of the World and Metal Masher are both high on the list for trails I've wanted to run.

I'll be later getting out of Denver Friday evening, so I'll probably camp at Rabbit Valley or somewhere else of I70, then get up early Saturday and meet up with everyone in the morning first thing.

Howdy folks - getting closer to the trip.

A few updates:
  • Camping will be at the BLM location above on the first post. Be prepared with your own toilet solutions!
  • We need some trail leaders and gunners. I'm planning on leading moderatish trails. Please reach out via PM if you can volunteer and I'll get a thread going.
  • I may be able to get out Thursday evening.
I don't mind gunning as long as its a small group.

Apologies I am decided and I will miss everyone this weekend. Got back to Utah a few days ago and while I did not get sick while in Romania, I am now feeling a cold slap me silly.

Plus besides fisticuffs with the cold, I need to catch up on winterizing the yard, truck work (peeling paint, oil leak, a weird squeak & creek, and a greasy fresh CV tear), and I need to get back on top of my training. I am stoked for the Jan 10 Night Owl Marathon in Ohio.

Y'all's have a fun time and make it amazing! I expect sweet pics 😁

Updates:
Radio (GMRS/FRS): Channel 6

I have a couple of FRS radios I’ll bring as spares. Their range is not, as one would imagine, as good as GMRS.

if anyone else can bring spares, please do!

I am not HAM licensed, but if anyone is and wants to try and run that side of things, feel free.

I’ll be at the RS monthly meeting tomorrow night for additional questions, thoughts, etc.

Just saying channel 6 is cursed. I say it based on the Dinosaur Monument area multi-club gathering I setup last year and this year. Might have also been an issue with the wing nuts between steering wheels and driver seats. All the same in the future I'll avoid channel 6 and likely to go for channel 16. Easy to remember since 4x4 to math nerds is 16, and yeah I am an engineer, a practical math nerd.

Again just saying. I definitely don't have a dog in the fight since I just said I decided to prioritize other projects this weekend instead. Feel free to ignore me, but I hope it helps.

Folks - Allen has a point about switching channels. 16 is in the high-power range. I’m going to update the first post accordingly.

Anyone going to the meeting tonight? I’ll be there.
