RS MAY CLUB MEETING
Hi Guest: Our monthly RS meeting on Wed. May 1st will be held at the Rooney Sports Complex.Details and directions are here. Early start time: 7:00 pm. to take advantage of daylight. We'll be talking ColoYota Expo and Cruise Moab. If you are eligible for club membership, please fill out an application in advance of the meeting and bring it with you.
I've been mulling it over, working longer than necessary lately, and I'm not expecting anything big to come up. So I'm going to flex my time and head to Moab with others Thursday afternoon
Sorry if anyone was planning on caravanning Friday with me. If anyone was, please let me know. I'll totally hang back and caravan on Friday if it helps anyone.
Two quick questions:
Would extra gas be good to bring? 5gal? 10gal? 15gal?
Does anyone know what the campfire situation is out there?
@Ann and I will arrive Friday by about 6 pm. Our currently plan is to do some day trip to the Needles district on Saturday (probably Lavender Canyon) if I can get a permit. We will call on Friday. We will leave Sunday morning.
UPDATE: @Ann talked to the NPS ranger today and we were told there would be no issue getting a permit if we called Friday. The ranger also said Lavendar Canyon is also beautiful right now. If anyone wants to come with us we would welcome others. We may stay out in the field Saturday night (Beef Basin?), or come back to Brian's. That is still TBD.
Those leaving Thursday......
Caravan? Everyman for himself? Head start for the non V8 cruisers?? 😁😁
Thinking we meet at the Kum & Go across the street from the dino lots off I70 around 3:30. Gives everyone a chance to fuel up, snack up, and hit the road.
Wheels up and headed west by 4pm.
By the way, I have a large coffee maker but do not drink coffee. For the coffee drinkers, please bring coffee and any creamer that you use. I have sugar.
I'm good with meeting at 4pm tomorrow (thursday) at the Kum&Go. Unfortunately work won't allow me to hit the road earlier.
I have a truck mounted mobile ham (normally have it on 146.460MHz), an HT ham, and two GMRS/FRS walkies. I'm happy to lend the HT and walkies if anyone is interested in trying them out or need comms. Just let me know.
Copy about coffee. Thanks again! Appreciate the offer @Beach Boy, I'm planning to bring a large mason jar full of cold brew.
