Moab. October 16 - 19 2020

Great trip, good turn out with some great people. Huge thank you to @Beach Boy for inviting us to stay on his property, using his facilities and for feeding us some awesome KC bbq! The trip would not have been possible without his hospitality. @Notyourmomslx450 spearheaded the trip idea and was trail leader for group A. I was trail leader for group B for fins n things on friday and hells revenge on Saturday.

Group b carnage report:
@allen.wrench made some improvements to his rear bumper via some rocks, @Shuksan had some trouble codes that were quickly resolved, @gungriffin broke and spit out a rear coil spring on hells revenge and my steering rack came loose.

Thanks for leading us @DomOfTheDead , it was a great first trip to Moab for myself and a great crew. Definitely big thanks to @Beach Boy for hosting and @Notyourmomslx450 for the initiative and organizing. I have already started planning a trip for mid-march, but there are talks of a canceled or shortened spring break

I barely took any pics but I do have a couple from fins and things. Will post when I am home later.

What a fun trip! Thank you @Notyourmomslx450 (Andy) for setting this up and @DomOfTheDead (Dom) for leading the B group two days in a row! Of course a huge THANK YOU to @Beach Boy (Brian) for allowing us to crash at his place and treating us like family and of course bringing the coolest truck out to play! Thanks everyone for the positive reinforcement when Jasmin drove up all those obstacles, she is super self-conscious but this trip definitely helped her feel more confident behind the wheel of the LX! Yes that was me on Hell's Gate and it was @gungriffin who was spotting. Thank you Ryan, I definitely wouldn't have done it without the keen eye of the sure-footed flip-flopper, one-hand on his coffee, Ryan up there cooly and confidently guiding me!

Man what a trip! Such a great time had by all. Amazingly no major problems in group A other than my truck. Ether a heat soaking problem, or vapor lock. It would only happen in the late afternoon. Reset the battery cool the intake tube and it was good. Anyway here’s some pics. Nobody took any body damage or broke anything. Group a ran Moab Rim, and Cliffhanger Friday. Hells Saturday, and the Pickle, Rusty Nail, and Golden Spike Sunday. We talked about running Top if the word Monday but decided to just pack up and head home.

Why were your tires locking up on that straightaway at the beginning Jimmy? The drone definitely caught just how steep that uphill section is. That is a really fun video. Good looking spotter as well! The smoothing software on the drone didn't like it when I slipped and fell at 1:50.

Oh and the resolution on the drone footage is awesome.

This is one of those obstacles that having some wheelbase is very very nice. Surprising that we couldn't get @Beach Boy to give it a try in his short wheelbase LJ70

I was watching other IFS trucks do it before me and they bounced the same. It scared me too until I actually drove it, it felt totally fine behind the wheel honestly. It was a lot scarier a little earlier when I almost slipped off the wall.
