If this run is still on? I’m definitely interested. Trying to lock in my runs for August hopefully the wife lets me;)

I know I was penciled in for this but it looks like I'm going to have to bail. I have something going on that Saturday but I may still drive up just for the camping!

I'm just curious who you are referring to as jeep guy? and why not welcome? I have two 4-runners and a jeep rubicon and am a member.
Regretably I do more with jeep than 4runner cause it seems 4runners just don't go out on trails. Or at least from what I have seen in club activities.

I take my 4Runner out regularly. Recent trip report: https://risingsun4x4club.org/xf/threads/barbour-fork-7-7-19.28142/ I have noticed that my 4WDs get cranky if I don't spread the trail love among them. :)

Ray Ray's attempt at humor wasn't intended to offend. At least I'm pretty sure it wasn't, knowing him.

Most club activities include lots more 4-runners than Jeeps in my experience but all are welcome to open runs. (Club members of course should own at least 1 4wd Toyota with low range gears)

This is on my calendar to, a great run I haven't hit in a few years... probably bring the cruiser as I still don't have my CJ running.

It's all jokes here. No bad intentions at all just some playful banter. We welcome all out on the trail.

Did anyone have any ideas on where to camp at?

We should start a sub forum for club members who like Jeeps too. ;)

I'm in. Hopefully I'll have the new transmission/ transfer case in by then. I requested the day off even with it being a Saturday so I can be here for it.
I scheduled myself for a job by mistake. I'll be in Florida

Ray,
We are going to be camping near the start of MSV on Friday night with family in Camp Dick and ready to meet up Saturday morning.

Saturday night we'll likely roll back to the family camp but for the group I know there used to be space right before the Coney Flats crossing if you wanted to split the run over two days and camp in the middle. There are also more accessible dispersed spots below Beaver Res around Rd 96 and 5071E but I haven't checked lately that it's all still open but I'd bet it is. Depending on when I roll out from Jenny this weekend I may be able to swing by and peak at the spots below if that's helpful to you?

Thanks for putting this together and leading it!

I think the camping area near the water crossing on Coney is closed now or blocked from access. We used to camp their in the early 2000's but when we were up their last year it looked like it was blocked off.

Made an update to the original post. I attached a Motor Vehicle Use Map of the area that shows all designated disburse camping areas.

Last year we camped off of 202.1A before the run. There were some other spots up there with enough room for multiple vehicles.

We are probably going to miss this run. The dog ate a small rubber ball and had to have it removed from his intestine yesterday. I can't leave him at home alone till he is all healed up.
