Just saw this hahaha. I think I'm going to prep another set beforehand and just not bother with pressing the old rubber out if I don't have to.

Came together relatively smooth… 8 hours later. Cross-threaded the bolt into the passenger side steering rack mount though 🤬

Anyone have experience repairing threads in a tacoma/4runner crossmember? I'm going to try this "high carbon steel" tap and a new bolt of the original size. How risky is this/what are the odds I permanently fuck up this steering rack mount point?
