Has anyone used one of the ARB camp chairs?

I just sat in an ARB tonight for first time tonight at a party. It rained here yesterday. The chair was still holding A LOT of water this evening. It seems they take days to dry out. For that reason alone I would no longer consider one. It was comfortable though.

If I think it is going to rain, I put it under the awning or fold it up... regardless of what chair I'm in. It takes longer for any chair to dry than it does to fold up

I've never had a wet chair experience?

I agree Kurt. I generally always stow my chairs at night under the camper. I was at a friends house, he had left it out preparing for a party. All the other chairs had dried. The ARB was holding a lot of water still. My rear end got soaked.

I've had my Travelchair Teddy for a few years now and it pretty much solves the wet seat issue.

The mesh drains water, dries quickly and also breathes well when you're at a hot soccer game, but is plenty durable. It's reinforced with seatbelt-like straps that keep it strong. The aluminum has held up well and I've had no issues with the slides getting bound up. My biggest complaint is that it only has one cup holder.

after reading about a bunch of folks who had problems with the arb chairs, i went with the alps kong chair. glad i did, since my reason for a high dollar chair was to buy something that wouldn't break at an inconvenient time. (like my coleman breaking the first day of surf n turf a few years ago) and the last time i saw roots arb chair, it was broken. my coleman at least made it 15 years.

Thanks everyone. I have been shopping Cabelas, Bass Pro, and Sportsmans Guide (who has a HUGE selection). I think I am leaning towards one of the off the shelf units from SW. It shocked me how much difference in comfort there was from design to design.
