This seems like a new site to help with the test https://hamexam.org/

My son-in law said the practice tests didnt have the answers so I found him another site to use :)

My Nephew just got his License and he has a built 200 series

I do like HamExam.org - they keep track of your practice exams so you can see what sections you need to study more.

Did you end up taking this test online Mike?
Yes I did. Had to schedule it from available time slots. Had to scan my test area/ room with Camera. 3 testing member’s observing me during exam.
They’ll let you know right away if you passed or not ( I passed).
Had my license and call sign the next day

Good luck to you

I am about to do the same online test Friday. I have been going through the flash cards on https://hamstudy.org/ for a week now, and will the rest of this week. Should be easy enough to ace the test.

@damon good luck! The Technician exam is really fairly easy. I had also studied a little of the General class stuff and for fun took the General exam immediately after passing the Tech exam. I actually passed the General exam! I don't feel like I'm a "real" General operator since I didn't study the material very thoroughly, but now I'm slowly working through it and at some point...

we have a handful of threads about Ham radio that have been "stuck" to the top of the forum. I'm trying to clean things up a bit, as this area has become somewhat stagnant and I think the abundance of sticky threads at the top have contributed to that. So am going to unstick them... I'll put the links to them here though, to keep them easily found in the future.

We can always stick them back in the future. One of the true joys of being a ham radio nerd is the act of searching for then posting up links to correct answers to new questions, and those sticky threads have removed some of that joy... let's see how this goes for a bit.

I may be slow but for me having the Common Frequencies thread stickied has been very helpful. Is there another place that info can go so super easy to find? I wouldn’t think to look for a link in the license notes thread for this. But again, may be a bit slow on the uptake here.

Well the easy answer is just program those into your radio... the reality is, it only would matter if you were trying to hit someone at random on simplex, like if you see another rig on the highway? And then a wild shot in the dark that they too are on the forum here, and also monitoring one of our common frequencies. All other times with other rigs here you'd know the simplex frequency of the trail run from either the run thread, or the driver meeting beforehand, or both. And it shouldn't take more than 1 or 2 runs to become fairly acquainted with the common simplex frequencies...

All true. I have the ham frequencies programmed into my truck radio and handheld. I was just thinking more about other folks that are new to the club. But you’re right, likely lots of communication prior to a run so all that would be in the open anyway.
