I picked up some Dulth Trading Co, Fire Hose pants on cyber Monday. Initial impressions are good. They are pretty heavy, so I’m not sure how much work if want to do in them during the summer.

These are literally all I wear for work, and my job is super hard on pants and I'm kneeling constantly. I get the "ultimate" fire-hose that have the knee pad pockets. They are heavy and hot, but I suffer anyway. I'm outside doing manual labor in 95deg heat and 95% humidity. I've worn out several pair and have several more in the rotation. They do have a lighter "flex" material that I think would be better for non-brutal work or hiking. expensive, but they last, have a guarantee, and I usually pick them up when there is a sale. All their pants have the crotch gusset. I have some jeans too, and a bunch of long tail T shirts, a couple jackets, overalls, etc.

Closing the loop on this, I got a pair of Kuhl pants that have held up extremely well to my abuses.
