I like the idea of possibly two groups
I will have my two kids with me and as much as a recovery mission has me excited
We are in only for a good ol fashioned spooky night run
Maybe we could find out who would be in for what and split the group from the beginning
That way if a rescue is in order those could plan accordingly
and be prepared with the necessary gear to be successful
Spooky night run rigs meet at ????
Rescue rigs meet at????
Just a thought as well

I'm likely able to make my first ever SNR, and I'd be up for a recovery... I can't help but think if it was my rig up there with winter literally on it's way what I wouldn't do to get it off the mountain. I'm desperately trying to get my hands dirty on this one.

I don't think desperate is a strong enough word haha. Especially how much money I have in the truck, it's irreplaceable.

I do not expect you guys to change the Spooky runs authenticity for the recovery.

Looking like the Kingston recovery has its own path now.. so likely not a factor for Friday night.

do you have any recommendations on where to find some to fit a 35x12.5x18?

I'm sure you could find some that size but you may want to do some forum searching about fit. Chains on the front of IFS trucks can be tough to fit due to clearance from the tire to the upper control arm. You can have a look and consider if wheel spacers would give enough clearance.

4x4 parts in Aurora had many sets for some bigger tires
I didn't really look through but saw many bags laying around the other day

The tire is still 35x12.5. Rim size will affect section width only in p metric size.

Thanks for the input guys.

Only looking for a set for the rear. Highly doubtful I could get any to fit the front even with a spacer. There isn't a lot of room in there especially down near the body mount which I already had chopped off.

Not too worried about needing them for Friday but I'd like to have a set for the Outlaws run in Dec.

Is the SNR suitable for a stock '08 4R SR5? I just got one a couple of months ago and would like to see how it does in the snow. However, I don't want to slow down the group with inappropriate equipment, lack of snow experience, and zero recovery gear onboard. Do I need chains?

If this isn't a good run for a newbie, then I'll sit this one out.

Mmm. That's a great idea. Is the closest one on the way up the one in Evergreen?

The original beaujos is in Idaho springs

yes still the plan. And great run for new/stock rigs & drivers, come on out. I'm thinking some crock pot meat of some sort & sandwiches, something I can cook all day & have no prep time.

For dinner we should try to keep it short this year- it's going to be pretty late & dark by the time we are motivated, doesn't mean eat any less, but err on the less prep time. Pizza & chicken ready to go are great ideas..

And we'll steer clear of the Kingston area for this- if you wanted to run up there Friday night by all means do so, just put together your own run to do it. I am super happy looking at those pics, that we made the decision we did last year.. we were staring down that descent where the Jeep is off the trail, contemplating if that exact result would have happened.

post up any other questions, see you tomorrow!
