I hear "free" and think "more beer" in the fridge. Oh, and also want to make sure I'll end up in the right place with the group.

Do we need to register if were doing A Night at The Museum inside the museum?

Your registered when you tell me you are going.

I'm still confused, is the adjacent lot where we'll be? I haven't registered for anything yet since it says "free" and I'm all about that.

We'll park adjacent. I suppose you can sleep there if no one chases you away.

I was talking to Dan Busey and they do have the adjacent lot available only Saturday. Since we are camping remotely Friday night it doesnt look like we need a camping reservation
I don't believe we need to register for the event either
So Dave, it's still free :)

Yup, yup

Yup!

Another good reason that the rendevous is at camp the first night. Night one camp is 23 miles of dirt from this location: 40.619975 said:
I looked at this on Google maps. Is that Rte 67 through Sand Wash Basin we're taking to the rendezvous?

Are you going to keep the route a secret (if it's even planned at all)? Perhaps a few waypoints we could have?

Planning to meet you guys in or around Craig. I may overnight coming up through Rangely if anyone is interested in adding an extra day.

Isn't it always better to poke the trail leader AFTER they get you off the trail:hill:

Ashley, my parents and myself will be heading out there close to the same way. Ashley turns 30 on the 8th. We will be stopping on the way near craig to chase some sharp tailed grouse. I have never seen a sharp tail or a ruffed before. Heading to Moab for a few days after.

I didn't mean to poke anyone, just curious if they have a route in mind.

Didn't think about the impoliteness of it. :-/

Maybe I should have asked a different way - do we need to figure out a way to bring extra fuel? We were once exploring around Dinosaur and got on the wrong side of the Yampa after we found a bridge near the wilderness area around Cross Mountain, not far from where we're starting in fact. If memory serves I figured out there's something like 6 bridges across the Yampa between Craig and Vernal and the detour wasn't small.

BTW, I deleted the email & didn't look.

Dang it, I got a jury summons for Monday 9/10. That wrinkles my return plans. Do not the wheels of the judicial system understand?

Fill up in Craig, then again near Flaming Gorge reservoir (we will cross the dam). Then I think that's the last fuel for 175 miles. I should have about a 200 mile range in my 80. I will have 4 extra gallons which I don't expect to need.

More details coming this weekend!

I believe that you are allowed to postpone one time. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in.
