Site #1 is confirmed
Sweet! thanks, Nay, that's huge man! So basically if you've posted up at this point that you're interested, then there is more than likely a space for you. If you haven't posted up any interest, then you should probably consider the run full- PM me for any last minute pleas, or questions, etc.
Fishy I penciled you into our camp, talking with Brent doesn't sound like he can swing it now. And remember those camps are just placeholders, I really don't care who camps with who, as long as we keep the numbers balanced. This is going to be awesome.
Here are some things you should consider bringing:
- Warm clothes- jeans, sweat shirts, a good hat, a real jacket. lots of socks, some long underwear even.
- Warm sleeping bags- we've found that "double bags" works a lot better for the kids (and us) than just one warm bag. Plus we have a lot of extra cheap bags... YMMV, but plan on 30° nights.
- Extra head lamps- it gets dark early, and usually when we're just starting to have fun.

- At least one pair of real shoes. Not sandals, not flip-flops, not old Crocs®, but actual shoes that can actually hike and not contribute to falling down.
Here are some things you probably don't need:
- Awnings, and 10x10 pop-ups. Even though this is the desert, we're camping in one of the most protected areas ever, so no matter brutal sun or total downpour we'll have significant natural shelter. save the space.
- Firewood, dog food, fireworks... yup none of that is allowed in the NP. But you knew that.
Not a comprehensive list, we can worry about food & stuff later, but wanted to get a few things out that have been on my mind.
Our plan, as of today, is leave City Market in Moab at 9:30 Friday morning 10/19. For most that means leave Denver Thursday night and camp/stay somewhere. We'll be on all the Colorado Connection repeaters throughout the drive, and of course one of the RS simplex frequencies throughout the run for communication. I suspect someone else will have a CB. Post up any other ideas or suggestions or questions or whatever.
