I am not sure but there should be 3 or 4 numbers after that.

That's the end of the line (it appears to me). I can even see the screw imprints where it looks like those last few numbers are part of a removable/changeable stamp that's screwed into the mold.

Okay, since I bought new tires I somewhat apologize for bringing this thread back up but it got me checking my tires (and my spare).

My spare says:
DOT EURE 1K8171

My new tires say:
DOT K4KENX71

Now I'm really confused, can anybody help?


Look on the other side of the tire and there will be a 12 digit number.

On my new tires I found the date: 2908, on the back side like you said.

On my spare the back side doesn't even have a DOT line anywhere; I'm thinking I should replace it pretty soon...

Need the check the MT/Rs on the Land Cruiser too...
